The official recap of the event has now been released and is available here.

The NTSA 2025 M&S Congressional Caucus Leadership Summit was held in Jacksonville, Florida, on Tuesday, February 18. The Summit explored the rapid expansion and advances of this technology, the role of federal policy and regulations, and the need to establish guard rails that protect Americans, our intellectual property, and our safety and security.

Commenting on the report, Dr. Graham highlighted the issues discussed on his panel:

“Our panel focused on the current applications of AI and the needs for AI going forward,” said Dr. Paul Graham. “Including on Current Generative AI Usage, emphasizing the prevalence and applications of generative AI in modeling and simulation, and addressing potential issues like hallucinations and biases, emphasizing assurance, testing, and education.”

He also pointed out the need to: “Encourage the use of AI by ensuring the security of models/data and provide robust AI education across age groups and workplaces. This will ensure that our population understands when, and how, the use of A.I. tools will increase our national productivity, while also maintaining control over where our data is used.”

The NTSA report concluded with the following statement:

Overall, the conversations shed light on the complexity of regulating AI, the necessity of ethical considerations, industry participation, public-private partnerships, and the interconnectedness of sectors in adopting AI solutions responsibly while ensuring data protection and standardized frameworks.

“The report suggested the formation of a Working Group delve deeper into AI topics to address complexities and facilitate legislation enactment,” said Dr. Graham. “To this end, ICT looks forward to engaging with the NTSA in the future, as this important issue unfolds.”
