Virtual reality is a lot more than a cool way to enhance your video game fun. USC’s Institute for Creative Technologies has developed VR exposure therapy to treat veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress. The Institute says its exposure therapy approach is now being used at over 60 sites, including VA hospitals, military bases and university centers. Patients, under the guidance of a therapist, confront their most traumatic memories by recreating battlefield scenarios in a virtual world.
