[L – R]: Hugo Gabriel Mayorquin; Darryl Weng; Dr. Randall W. Hill, Jr; Brad Conners; Hannah Hobmann
This summer, USC’s Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) welcomed four U.S. Air Force ROTC Cadets—all current USC students—for an immersive, interdisciplinary internship experience.
Cadets Hannah Hobmann, Darryl Weng, Hugo Gabriel Mayorquin, and Brad Conners took part in lab rotations across ICT’s research divisions. Their hands-on projects included working with ICT’s renowned Light Stage, exploring computational linguistics with the Dialogue Group, and contributing to learning science initiatives such as the Army Writing Enhancement Toolset (AWE), part of the AI Research Center of Excellence for Education (AIRCOEE).
Each Cadet brings a unique academic focus: Hobmann is studying Intelligence and Cyber Operations; Weng and Conners are majoring in Computer Science; and Mayorquin is pursuing Mechanical Engineering.
ICT’s internship program offers students unique opportunities at the intersection of emerging technology and national service. Learn more about internship opportunities here and the Air Force ROTC program at USC here.
