The ICT Mixed Reality Lab won the best demo award at the recent IEEE VR Conference where they introduced the new FOV2GO, a fold-out 3-D viewer for the the creation of immersive virtual reality experiences using smartphones and also demonstrated the group’s gesture work using their FAAST toolkit.
Evan Suma earned an honorable mention for his paper: Impossible Spaces: Maximizing natural walking in virtual environments with self-overlapping architecture (Evan A. Suma and Zachary Lipps and Samantha Finkelstein and David M. Krum and Mark Bolas).
The team’s new post-doc, Adam Jones also received an honorable mention for the poster: Depth Judgments by Reaching and Matching in Near-Field Augmented Reality (Gurjot Singh, J. Edward Swan II, J. Adam Jones and Stephen R. Ellis).
