In April 2025, the award-winning aerial cinematography team at JayByrd Films visited ICT to capture stunning drone footage for the USC School of Advanced Computing’s new showcase film – which launched today!
Over the course of an afternoon, the crew filmed inside three of our labs: the Mixed Reality (MxR) and Modeling & Simulation Lab, the Vision and Graphics Lab (VGL), and the Virtual Human Therapeutics Lab (VHTL).
The USC School of Advanced Computing (SAC) — the University of Southern California’s 23rd school, launched in 2024, and builds on more than 50 years of Trojan computing excellence, from the birth of the Internet to the first operational quantum computing system in academia. As the university’s epicenter of computing research and education, SAC unites the Thomas Lord Department of Computer Science, the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the new Division of Computing Education, alongside two powerhouse institutes: the Information Sciences Institute (ISI) and Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT).
ICT extends thanks to drone cinematographer Jay Christensen, producer Erik Nelson, assistant camera Owen Hofman, and USC Viterbi’s own producer/director Dennis Lee for capturing the spirit of our labs in action.
