An article describing advances in and efforts to create convincing computer-animated characters featured the face scanning work of Paul Debevec and the ICT Graphics Lab. The article noted that the lab’s Light Stage technology was used to scan a mask of Brad Pitt in order to provide accurate lighting data for creating a believable character in the film, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. The story also noted the collaboration between ICT and Image Metrics which led to the creation of the lifelike digital Emily.
