Thanks to Boxi Fu and Betül Dinçer for representing ICT’s Human-Centered AI Lab at the “Ask a Scientist” outreach event at Bell Gardens High School.
The Human-Centered AI Lab, headed up by Dr. Ning Wang has a long established collaboration with the school and a tradition in participating in this event, bringing demos that showcase the latest research to the school and encouraging students to pursue pathways toward STEM careers.
This year, Betul Dincer and Boxi Fu brought a suite of AI education games to the event, including:
1. Becoming Fei, an educational game for machine learning and data science education for novice learners, funded by DEVCOM Army Research Lab (ARL).
2. 7th Patient, funded by NSF, to teach probability AI, such as Bayesian network for high school students (funded by NSF). To sign up for demo access, click here.
Boxi Fu is the development lead for both projects, and has an MSc, Computer Science / Games, USC Viterbi. Betül Dinçer is a graduate student at Viterbi, and working on both projects as a Game Developer at ICT.
