How VR Will Change Sports. And How It Won’t

Skip Rizzo was quoted in a Backchannel article about how VR may change the experience of viewing sports.
“I don’t go to a Dodger game to sit by myself,” Albert “Skip” Rizzo, Director for Medical Virtual Reality at the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies, told me. “And when you’re watching sports, you’re not spending that much time turning around. VR may create some kind of sense of presence, but it can also be underwhelming.”
