ICT’s Research Scientist, Dr. Ning Wang and Omkar Masur, Graduate Software Engineer, participated in “Ask a Scientist” evening at Bell Gardens High School, Gardena, CA last month.

Omkar Masur is currently studying for his Masters, Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence), at Viterbi School of Engineering. He was part of ICT’s 2023 internship cohort and joined Dr. Ning’s research team to work on AI projects.

At the event, alongside answering questions from Bell Gardens high schoolers, Dr. Wang and Omkar Masur demonstrated part of the Virtual Human Exhibit that they developed, which is currently on show at the Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California, Berkeley.

This research is part of the National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project: “AI Behind Virtual Humans: Communicating the Capabilities and Impact of Artificial Intelligence to the Public through an Interactive Virtual Human Exhibit” – on which Dr. Wang is Principal Investigator.
