Ari Shapiro and his co-authors Yuyu Xu and Andrew Feng won the Best Paper Award at the Fifth International Conference on Motion in Games in Rennes, France. Their paper is titled “Automating the Transfer of a Generic Set of Behaviors onto a Virtual Character. The paper shows how to leverage third party models and automatically use them in an animation system without needing any intermediate processing by 3D artists. This greatly reduces the cost of producing 3D animated content.
