Skip Rizzo received the 17th annual Satava Award at the recent Medicine Meets Virtual Reality Next Med Conference (MMVR19) in Orange County, Calif. Rizzo was given the award in recognition of his understanding and realization of the potential of virtual reality as a therapeutic tool to help patients overcome mental and physical disabilities. Established in 1995 to acknowledge the contribution of Dr. Richard M. Satava, , the award is presented to an individual or research group demonstrating unique vision and commitment to the improvement of medicine through advanced technology.
