ICT’s Clarke Lethin Honored With Navy Service Award

Clarke Lethin, ICT’s managing director, received the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award recognizing his exceptional performance of duties while assigned as the Human Performance, Training and Education Thrust Manager with the Office of Naval Research. Randall W. Hill, Jr., ICT’s executive director, presented the award to Lethin at the ICT staff meeting in December. Lethin began at ICT in October 2012. Prior to joining ICT, he worked in the Office of Naval Research, most recently as the manager for the Human Performance Training and Education program. He was also the technical manager for the Future Immersive Training Environment, Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration.
Lethin graduated from Oregon State University in 1980 with a degree in business and then began nearly three decades of service in the Marine Corps, retiring in 2008 as a Colonel. While on active duty he repeatedly served in roles where he demonstrated his ability to lead large teams of diverse staff toward collaborative goals. From 1998 to 2004, Lethin was assigned to Camp Pendleton and served with One Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters and 1st Marine Division Headquarters. During these six years, he planned military training exercises in Egypt, Jordan and Kenya as well as planned and participated in combat operations in Afghanistan in 2001, and in Iraq in 2003 and 2004. Between 2004 and 2006, Lethin attended the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington D.C. and served as the director for the Marine Corps’ Fires and Maneuver Integration Division in Quantico, Va. His last active duty assignment was as the chief operating officer at Camp Pendleton, overseeing the 350 person organization that was responsible for 44,000 military and civilian personnel.
