The feature spotlights two major ICT initiatives:

• Battle Buddy for Suicide Prevention
Developed by ICT’s MedVR, Virtual Human Therapeutics Lab (VHTL), and Integrated Virtual Humans teams for the VA’s Mission Daybreak Challenge, Battle Buddy is an AI-driven mHealth application designed exclusively for Veterans. The virtual human dialogue system, multimodal interaction cues, and personalized safety-planning tools, an early prototype earned Best Technical Demonstration at the 2023 Persuasive Technology Conference.

• RIDE (Rapid Integration & Development Environment)
RIDE is ICT’s foundational R&D platform supporting early, flexible prototyping for the Department of Defense. Built to accelerate adoption and reuse of simulation technologies, RIDE integrates commercial game-engine capabilities with ICT innovations in terrain, AI behaviors, NLP, ML tools, networking, and immersive tech. More than 50 government and industry partners now hold RIDE licenses.
