Please Join Us in Congratulating Andrew Feng, PhD on his appointment as Research Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.

Dr. Feng’s promotion recognizes his significant contributions to the fields of computer graphics, geospatial modeling, and computer animation  research, as well as his longstanding commitment to advancing the research mission of the USC Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT).

Since joining ICT in 2011, Dr. Feng has played a pivotal role in the development of high-fidelity 3D environments and virtual character animations for simulation and training applications. As Associate Director of the Geospatial Terrain Research Group—a core component of ICT’s long-standing work in geospatial sciences—he has led efforts to build high-resolution geospatial datasets using advanced photogrammetric pipelines, drone-based sensing, and procedural terrain generation. These technologies have supported a wide range of operational and research initiatives in collaboration with the U.S. Army and other Department of Defense stakeholders.

In his new faculty role, Dr. Feng will continue to contribute to the Thomas Lord Department of Computer Science, the School of Advanced Computing, ICT, and the broader Viterbi School of Engineering through his research, mentorship, and academic leadership.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Feng on this well-earned recognition.
