Integrated Virtual Humans

Research Lead: Arno Hartholt

The Integrated Virtual Humans Lab (IVH) creates interactive and controllable agents, the worlds they inhabit, and the architectures and tools to develop both.

IVH collaborates with other labs to make research software more robust, integrate academic and industry technologies into common research and development (R&D) platforms, and create research and applied prototypes.

IVH is responsible for the integration of the Rapid Integration & Development Environment (RIDE) and the Virtual Human Toolkit. Both platforms are available upon request, enabling researchers and developers to create and assess prototypes ranging from embodied conversational agents for training, education, and health to real-time military simulations on 3D geospatial terrain, with support for web, mobile, AR and VR.
