Project Director
Institute for Creative Technologies

Richard DiNinni currently is the co-lead on the SimCoach-ProQoL project, working with the Army Medical Center and School to develop a system to support military health care providers.  He is also the co-lead on the Cognitive Cartography project, an effort to enhance the training of soldiers preparing to deploy as medical advisors.  Previously, he helped launch the VIGOR project, a proof of concept training scenario in Second Life for the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) that subsequently won an award in the 2011 Federal Virtual Worlds Challenge.

Shortly after joining ICT in 2001, DiNinni worked with Army leadership to start the TRADOC-ICT Immersive Training Program.  The program recently marked its 10 year anniversary of uninterrupted success.  In that time, the program has delivered 29 workshops and 21 other training events that have been attended by 2800 military training professionals across 25 military installations.  The TRADOC-ICT Visiting Scholars Series grew out of this program in 2008 and a recent survey by senior leadership found that the most interesting initiatives being developed within the training community are at locations with an alumnus of the TRADOC-ICT Visiting Scholars Series.
